Many of these facilities are located within Old Settlers Park, including Champion Fields, where you’ll find 20 baseball fields, five softball fields, 18 batting cages, shaded seating, and warm-up areas. Old Settlers Park also features an 18-hole disc golf course, two football fields, 12 tennis courts, five soccer fields with restroom/concession, sand volleyball courts, cricket space, and cross-country courses. It’s time to trailblaze! Gear up for an expedition through 3.3 miles of paved trails at Old Settlers Park. These winding routes will lead you on a serene journey, connecting you to iconic landmarks like the Dell Diamond, weaving through soccer fields, and offering peaceful moments at the Rabb Pavilion and Lakeview Pavilion. Embrace nature as you stroll by the tranquil lake and eventually reach the disc golf area. Click here for a trail map!

Bright Lake

We’re happiest by the water, so we’re regulars on the shores of Bright Lake! With its ample bank access, it’s a prime spot for reeling in prized catches like catfish, largemouth bass, and rainbow trout. But Bright Lake isn’t just about fishing—it’s a vibrant hub for events. Experience holiday magic at Light up the Lake, a winter extravaganza with a memorizing light show. Here’s a video of the spectacle!

Playgrounds and Picnics

Round Rock doesn’t mess around when it comes to play and picnics! We have not one, not two, but seven playgrounds scattered throughout the park. Five covered playgrounds are within the baseball and softball complex, and two more are near the Lakeview and Rabb pavilions. If you’re a picnic aficionado, we have picnic havens scattered throughout Old Settlers Park! There are over 40 picnic areas complete with BBQ grills, ensuring you’ll always find the perfect spot for your spread.

Cast your stress away and take a relaxing fishing trip to Round Rock, Texas! It’s common to see locals and visitors lining the water banks with a rod and reel in their hands. Round Rock is home to several freshwater fishing spots filled with bass, catfish, panfish, and more. Pack a cooler and fishing gear and head to the water for a perfect day of fishing!

In Round Rock, we have Meadow Lake, Bright Lake, and Brushy Creek stocked with fish for you to catch. Meadow Lake is a 59-acre lake located by Meadow Lake Park. Largemouth bass and bluegill populations swim through this lake, and it is routinely stocked with channel catfish by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Boats without onboard motors are permitted on Meadow Lake, and there are beautiful shoreline trails to walk along. Another popular fishing spot is Bright Lake, located in Old Settlers Park. Bright Lake has excellent bank access and is a fantastic spot to catch catfish, largemouth bass, and rainbow trout. Old Settlers Park includes shore access to Bright Lake and a fishing pier for guests to use. Finally, we have Brushy Creek that runs through the heart of our city. Brushy Creek is home to sunfish, rainbow trout, and even the rare Guadalupe bass. It’s the ideal spot for fly fishing and fishing by the banks.

If you need to stock up on gear for your fishing trip, stop by the Bass Pro Shops for items like tackle boxes, lures, fishing rods, and even boats. If you want to fly fish on Brushy Creek we have the Living Waters Fly Fishing fly shop which offers all your fly fishing gear and apparel.

For an enhanced fishing experience, you can book a fishing guide with Living Waters Fly Fishing. They provide visitors with an educational and enjoyable experience out on the Round Rock water. The Living Waters Fly Fishing staff members are dedicated to fly fishing and sharing their passion with their guests! To schedule a guide, click here.

Know before you go:

A current Texas fishing license is required to fish all Round Rock area lakes. License options are available for Texas residents and nonresidents, including annual and one-day fishing licenses. You can purchase a license online through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website, as well as at most bait shops and sporting goods. License retailers in Round Rock include Walmart, Bass Pro Shops, and Academy Sports.

Statewide fishing regulations apply to all lakes in the Round Rock area, but regulations are subject to change, and certain lakes have unique fishing rules. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department publishes an annual guide to fishing rules and regulations that is available online and in print from wherever fishing licenses are sold.
